Our BA (Hons) Education and Professional Development, offered in partnership with our friends at The University of Huddersfield, provides a superb opportunity for research and critical thinking in a supportive environment which blends effective teaching and digital innovation.
Suitable for anyone working in education, training and workforce development across public, private, Trade Union and third sector settings, the learning builds on Cert Ed (or equivalent training/experience) to enhance critical reflexion, knowledge of policy and practice, research and academic scholarship.
You’ll get a degree in 21 intense months. The starting point is your practice and the degree’s intention is to strengthen your enterprise and resilience in ideas leadership, policy influence, digital and academic scholarship.
The course promotes the concept of students as researchers, sharing your studies at Research Festivals in both years. This is integral to the programme and includes supporting newcomers writing for publication. You need to have access to appropriate technology and you need to be prepared to try out new technologies for this course. At the heart of it all is critical friendship, through social networking, academic support and excellent classroom practice which includes and values all.
You can find the dates for 2016-17 here. The course is fundable by Student Finance England loan (if you have an existing loan, the monthly repayments stay the same). You can apply for your place here.
The course will run at both The Northern College (residential accommodation available) and The University of Huddersfield.
